Nowon Eulji University Hospital announced Wednesday that neurosurgery professor Kim Jae-hoon will take office as the 20th president of the hospital. He will begin his term with an inauguration ceremony on January 2 next year.
Kim graduated from Hanyang University College of Medicine and earned his master's and doctoral degrees from the same university. Since joining Nowon Eulji University Hospital in 2006, he has served as chief of the neurosurgery department, director of the surgical intensive care unit, director of planning, and senior vice president.
As a cerebrovascular disease specialist, Kim has focused on protecting the golden hour for patients with severe cerebrovascular conditions including acute cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage. The stroke center at Nowon Eulji University Hospital has maintained the highest grade in the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service's acute stroke care quality evaluation for 19 consecutive years.
