As winter begins in earnest, a bitter cold wave is expected to hit the whole country.
According to the Meteorological Agency on the 1st, temperatures in most regions will drop below zero from the 2nd, and the cold will continue.
The lowest temperature in the morning is -5 to 5 degrees, and the daytime highs are predicted to be 1 to 12 degrees. The temperature in Seoul is also expected to drop sharply to -7 degrees on the 3rd following a 2-day low of -1 degrees.
As the cold air moving from north to south is accompanied by strong winds, the sensory temperature will drop to -11 degrees. In particular, in the northern regions of Gyeonggi, such as Paju, Yangju, and Pocheon, the sensory temperature is expected to reach -15 degrees, and even stronger cold is expected.
Along with the influx of cold air, snow news continues mainly along the west coast. Rain or snow will begin on the west coast of Chungnam and Jeonbuk, the southern inland, and Jeju Island, and expand to the west coast and central inland of Gwangju and Jeonnam on the 3rd. The estimated snowfall is 3 to 8 cm on the west coast of Chungnam and Jeonbuk and the west coast of northern Jeonnam, and 3 to 10 cm in Jeju Island and Ulleungdo.
Due to the effects of snow and rain, visibility is shortened, and there is a high possibility that icy roads and ice will occur all over the road, so special attention must be paid to commuting traffic safety and wintering preparations.
In some regions where the dry weather report came into effect, the risk of fire is also increasing due to the fact that the atmosphere is very dry.
This cold wave is expected to continue until the middle of the week and gradually subside ahead of the weekend. Temperatures are likely to return to a temperature similar to normal or slightly higher on the weekend, and the temperature changes greatly, so you should take care of your health.
