A police officer who set fire to garbage in the park and sprayed 60 cars with insecticide were detained and sent.
The Changwon Central Police Department in Gyeongnam said that Mr. A in his 60s was detained for 2 days on charges of arson of general goods and obstruction of public affairs enforcement.
Mr. A is accused of igniting garbage piled up under the stairs of the venue at Yongji Culture Park in Seongsan-gu, Changwon-si, at 11:40 a.m. on the 26th of last month. A passerby who was nearby at the time saw Mr. A igniting the fire and reported it to the police. Fortunately, the fire was immediately extinguished, and there were no human or property damage.
After receiving the report, Mr. A also sprayed insecticide on the police officer when the police officer tried to arrest him.
Police investigations revealed that Mr. A committed this act for no particular reason. It was discovered that Mr. A had a history of being suspended from execution due to arson incidents in the past.
