Democratic Party leader Jung Chung-rae praised President Lee Jae-myung's first-anniversary press conference held Tuesday, saying, "We could see detail-oriented leadership unlike any previous president."
Jung wrote on his Facebook page that day, "There was an essential awareness of issues regarding phenomena that could not be seen in any previous president, and an accurate grasp of details on each matter." He added, "In a word, this is an irreplaceable President Lee Jae-myung."
"President Lee accurately presented a future vision for where Korea should head, and also accurately recognized and grasped Korea's structural problems," he said. "I believe he sufficiently grasped and presented the short-term and mid-to-long-term priorities for the problems Korea must solve."
He further noted, "His courageous remarks that he would prioritize Korea's national interest and the lives and safety of the people, beyond balanced diplomacy regarding the Middle East war, were impressive." He added, "He showed the demeanor of a leader with outstanding risk management ability."
Jung also said, "His plan to put their heads together and discuss with the four branch leaders regarding the National Election Commission's ballot paper shortage is a very necessary measure." He continued, "It was very impressive that he expressed gratitude to the young people who raised the issue."
"He also clearly explained his stance on the peaceful coexistence the Korean Peninsula should pursue amid the rapidly changing international order," Jung stressed. "The party, government, and presidential office will unite, and the party will take the lead in devotion for the success of the Lee Jae-myung administration."
