
Lee Won-taek of the Democratic Party held a lead in the North Jeolla Province governor's race in the June 3 local election, an exit poll showed Tuesday.
According to the exit poll conducted by the three major broadcasters — KBS, MBC and SBS — and released at 6 p.m. when voting closed, Lee was projected to win 48.5% of the vote. Independent candidate Kim Kwan-young was forecast to receive 46.3%.
