
Cho Kuk, candidate of the Rebuilding Korea Party, is projected to receive 31.1% of votes, while Kim Yong-nam of the Democratic Party of Korea is expected to garner 30.3%, according to exit poll results from the National Assembly by-election held alongside the June 3 local elections on Tuesday. Yoo Eui-dong of the People Power Party is forecast to receive 30.6%.
If Cho enters the National Assembly, he is expected to immediately rise to the ranks of presidential contenders.
