The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) said Monday it has launched a "mobile issuance service for military service health examination results," allowing applicants to check their results more conveniently.
Until now, military service health examination results had to be printed on paper and issued in person. Going forward, results can be issued and checked instantly via smartphone through KakaoTalk notifications and the "e-Byungmu Wallet" app.
The results can be stored as electronic documents, and results for each examination item along with clinical explanations are provided on a mobile-optimized display.
The military service health examination is a health checkup that young men in Korea receive at age 19. It includes precision testing across 58 items in 35 categories, including blood, liver function, and radiology examinations.
The MMA said it expects approximately 440,000 men subject to military service obligations each year to be able to manage and utilize their health information more easily and conveniently.
"The military service health examination is meaningful as the first health checkup that many young men receive as adults," MMA Commissioner Hong So-young said. "We will think from the people's perspective and take one more step forward to advance convenient and smart digital military administration services."
