North Korea fired an unidentified projectile toward the Yellow Sea on Wednesday, South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said.
The JCS is analyzing the projectile's specifications and range.
Earlier, on the 19th of last month, North Korea fired several short-range ballistic missiles from the Sinpo area in South Hamgyong Province toward the East Sea, claiming they were equipped with cluster warheads.
If the projectile is confirmed to be a ballistic missile, it would mark the first such launch in 37 days and the eighth this year.
