Jung Won-oh, the Democratic Party of Korea's candidate for Seoul mayor, completed his candidacy registration on Friday and pledged to pass judgment on Oh Se-hoon's 10 years of city administration.
"I have completed my registration as the Democratic Party of Korea's candidate for Seoul mayor," Jung said on social media the same day.
Jung pointed to his achievements as Seongdong district chief as his strength. "I have proven myself through results in Seongdong over the past 12 years," he said. "I transformed the underdeveloped Seongsu-dong, built a regional economy of shared growth, and created administrative effectiveness that citizens can feel."
Jung argued that the Seoul led by Oh Se-hoon, the People Power Party's candidate for Seoul mayor, must come to an end. "I will now extend Seongdong's achievements into major change for Seoul," he said. "I will judge the incompetence of Oh Se-hoon's 10-year administration, which ended anticlimactically, and wash away citizens' fatigue."
Jung added, "I will deliver administration that creates real change in citizens' lives, not politics for show. I will do what citizens want, not what the mayor wants to do."
