The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) said Wednesday it has sent postal notices to conscripts due to enlist before June 3, the voting day for the 9th nationwide local elections, guiding them on how to apply for election bulletins and participate in early voting.
The notices were sent to approximately 11,000 conscripts scheduled to enlist between the 18th and 28th of this month, providing instructions on how to apply for election bulletins containing candidate information.
Those who wish to receive the bulletins at their units can apply through the "Election Bulletin Delivery Request" menu on the National Election Commission's website by entering their unit's post office box address.
The MMA also advised about 2,000 conscripts enlisting on June 1 and 2, who will be unable to vote at polling stations in their registered residential districts on election day, to cast their ballots during the early voting period before reporting for duty.
"We plan to strengthen public outreach through the MMA website and individual KakaoTalk notifications so that enlistees can be informed in advance," MMA Commissioner Hong So-young said.
