President Lee Jae-myung and First Lady Kim Hye-kyung visited Seoul Children's Grand Park on Monday to greet children on Children's Day.
"This was a surprise visit proposed directly by the president to communicate with citizens who came to the amusement park with their children on Children's Day," Kang Yu-jung, senior presidential spokesperson, said in a written briefing.
The presidential couple entered through the park's rear gate and walked to the musical fountain, greeting citizens and posing for photos during their roughly two-hour visit.
The couple took commemorative photos with all citizens who waited in line. They also asked children about their future dreams and offered encouragement, including children visiting from Jeju Island with their parents, twins, and children from multicultural families.
