The Ministry of National Defense and Gyeonggi Province announced on January 16 that they held the 7th Mutual Development Council meeting at the Gyeonggi Provincial Government's Northern Office.
The director-general level council, launched in June 2023, holds regular meetings twice a year to discuss various issues related to military base presence in Gyeonggi Province.
At the meeting, discussions were held on improving residents' quality of life and regional development, including cooperation on easing land use regulations for local development and military noise compensation measures.
The council decided to directly hear opinions from frontline units and local governments going forward, and to pursue joint site visits for field-centered problem-solving.
