South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Kyu-baek held a video conference with Japanese Defense Minister Koizumi Shinjiro at the Ministry of National Defense in Seoul on Wednesday afternoon.
The two ministers shared information on North Korea's recent multiple rocket launcher and missile launch activities. They also agreed on the importance of closely pursuing South Korea-U.S.-Japan security cooperation to deter and respond to North Korean nuclear and missile threats.
The ministers shared the view that bilateral cooperation is crucial for regional peace and stability amid a grave security environment including the Middle East conflict, and agreed to stably promote South Korea-Japan defense exchanges and cooperation going forward.
