Choo Mi-ae, a lawmaker of the ruling Democratic Party of Korea, has been selected as the party's candidate for Gyeonggi Province governor.
So Byung-hoon, chair of the Democratic Party's election management committee, announced on Wednesday that Choo won a majority of votes in the primary to select the Gyeonggi governor candidate, confirming her as the nominee. Choo competed in the primary against incumbent Governor Kim Dong-yeon and lawmaker Han Jun-ho.
