South Korea's Army invited a delegation from Poland's General Command to discuss logistics cooperation aimed at supporting the stable operation of Korean defense weapons systems, the Army said Sunday.
Polish General Commander Lt. Gen. Marek Sokolowski and his delegation arrived in South Korea on May 29 for a five-day visit. They toured the Army Logistics Command, the Army Comprehensive Logistics School, and Hanwha Aerospace (012450.KS), examining the military's overall logistics support systems.
The Army introduced maintenance systems and repair technologies designed to support the operation of Korean weapons systems exported to Poland, including the K2 tank, K9 self-propelled howitzer, and Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher.
Army Chief of Staff Gen. Kim Gyu-ha met with the Polish General Commander at the Gyeryongdae military complex on May 31 to exchange views on expanding military exchanges and cooperation between the two armies.
The two sides agreed to strengthen maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) cooperation to keep the weapons systems exported to Poland in optimal condition. They also agreed to expand exchanges in future battlefield domains including AI, drones, and robotics.
