President Lee Jae-myung told Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who arrived on a state visit on July 1, that "many Korean companies will enter strategic industries underpinning the 'Golden Indonesia Vision' and become a core engine for the shared prosperity of both nations." President Prabowo responded, "Together, we can go even further."
At a state luncheon held at the Cheongwadae Guest House, Lee said, "I extend my deep gratitude for your warm support for Korean companies at every opportunity." He added, "Through today's summit, the President and I have established a 'Special Comprehensive Strategic Partnership' between our two countries. With the elevation of bilateral relations to the highest level, the two nations will strengthen comprehensive cooperation in security, defense, economy, innovation, culture and creative industries for shared prosperity, based on deepened trust and a stronger strategic partnership."
Lee continued, "I expect active strategic investment cooperation through Danantara, which has grown into a sovereign wealth fund of global scale." He added, "Just as we opened the skies of both nations through the successful completion of the joint fighter jet development project, I hope we will strengthen cooperation in shipbuilding so that both countries can leap forward together as global maritime powers."
He also stressed, "Our two countries are optimal partners to tackle the defining challenge of our era — the AI transformation. Building on the partnership established today, we will strengthen cooperation linking Indonesia's big data with Korea's AI technology and create synergy toward an AI-based society."
President Prabowo said, "The elevation of our relationship to a 'Special Comprehensive Strategic Partnership' demonstrates how firmly the two countries share a vision based on deep mutual trust." He added, "I believe the milestones we have achieved will continue to serve as lasting benefits for our peoples."
"The Republic of Korea is a remarkably successful case of achieving advanced-nation status and industrial modernization," Prabowo said. "I have great respect for the many achievements Korea has made." He added, "Everything we are doing today, everything we achieve today — all of this will shine even brighter for future generations of both nations."
