The Democratic Party of Korea expelled Jeonbuk Province Governor Kim Gwan-young over allegations of providing cash, senior spokesperson Kang Jun-hyun said Wednesday.
Kang made the announcement after a closed-door supreme council meeting held at the National Assembly on July 1. "Evidence of providing cash was identified, and the supreme council members unanimously voted to expel Jeonbuk Governor Kim Gwan-young," Kang said.
"Our party is truly sorry to the people regarding this matter," the senior spokesperson added.
