
Lee Ki-hyung, a preliminary candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, topped a suitability poll for Gimpo mayor candidates, according to survey results released on the 31st.
The survey, commissioned by Gimpo Shinmun to polling firm ResearchView, was conducted over two days from March 28 to 29 among 600 men and women aged 18 and older residing in Gimpo. Lee Ki-hyung ranked first with 18.2% in the Democratic Party's Gimpo mayor candidate suitability poll. Former Gimpo Mayor Jeong Ha-young followed with 14.3%, Gyeonggi Provincial Council member Cho Seung-hyun with 11.0%, and Gimpo City Council member Oh Gang-hyun with 7.6%.
Notably, Lee also placed first in a suitability survey limited to Democratic Party supporters, scoring 26.1% and leading second-place former Mayor Jeong Ha-young by more than 7 percentage points.
In the same survey, party support ratings in Gimpo showed the Democratic Party of Korea at 60.7% and the People Power Party at 20.1%, indicating a wide lead for the Democratic Party.
The survey was conducted using an automated response system (ARS). The margin of error is ±4.0 percentage points at a 95% confidence level, and the response rate was 5.6%. For other details, refer to the National Election Survey Deliberation Committee website.
