Han Dong-hoon, former leader of the ruling People Power Party, will appear as the first guest of the new season of comedy show "SNL Korea."
Han announced the appearance himself on June 27 through his Facebook page, posting a photo showing him standing arm-in-arm with entertainer Kim Min-kyo. "Tomorrow (Saturday) at 8 p.m., I'll be on the first episode of the new SNL season. Please enjoy the show!" he wrote.
This is not Han's first time on SNL. He previously appeared on the popular "The Branch Manager Visits" segment during Season 7 in May last year, when the presidential race was in full swing. At the time, when asked the awkward question of which was a more serious matter — an "attempted imposition of martial law" or "more than 30 impeachment attempts" — he chose "attempted imposition of martial law" without hesitation, saying he was "the type who always speaks candidly and gets fired for it."
He also posted a photo standing side by side with comedian Jung Sung-ho, who impersonates him perfectly, writing, "So that's really what I look like." He added hashtags such as "#MirrorTherapy" and "#SelfReflection," showing a good-natured willingness to embrace satire directed at himself.
"SNL Korea Season 8," which premieres on June 28, will feature a star-studded crew led by Shin Dong-yup alongside Jung Sang-hoon, Jung Sung-ho, Kim Min-kyo, Ahn Young-mi, Lee Su-ji, and Ji Ye-eun, all joining forces with Han for the episode.
