President Lee Jae-myung emphasized on the 10th that "many citizens are still suffering from the jeonse fraud crisis that occurred in 2022," adding that "to eradicate jeonse fraudsters who undermine public safety and community trust, we need to strengthen social responsibility for housing stability."
At a Cabinet meeting held at Cheong Wa Dae on the same day, President Lee stated, "We must proceed without delay on institutional reforms including expanded disclosure of housing-related information, reducing gaps in tenant protection rights, and strengthening licensed real estate agents' accountability." He added that "eradicating jeonse fraud is also a core task in normalizing the abnormalities that remain in our society."
