President Lee Jae-myung said on Sunday (local time) that "scam crimes and voice phishing targeting Koreans are declining, just as South Korean real estate prices have fallen."
Speaking at a meeting with Korean expatriates at a hotel in Manila, President Lee added, "I publicly declared that anyone who touches Korean citizens will face ruin, and I will continue to pressure criminal organizations going forward."
"One of the difficulties our overseas compatriots face is security concerns," he continued. "While damages to citizens within Korea from transnational crimes have decreased significantly, damages to Korean residents in the Philippines appear to be continuously increasing." He explained that he is paying close attention to this issue.
