The Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) announced Monday that it will conduct the 8th National Defense Project Manager certification examination on November 7.
Applications will be accepted from September 8 through October 7.
The national certification program, launched in 2018, aims to cultivate specialized personnel in defense acquisition and strengthen expertise in the defense industry. Through the 7th examination in 2025, 2,378 candidates have taken the test, producing 412 certified professionals.
In response to growing interest in the certification, DAPA's Defense Acquisition Education Institute will offer additional training courses this year.
The program will run for two weeks from April 13 to 24, targeting small and medium-sized defense contractors and subcontractors that have had relatively limited access to preparatory education.
"The Defense Acquisition Education Institute will make every effort to ensure the nation's only national certification examination in the defense acquisition field is conducted fairly and without disruption," said Lee Min-hyu, acting director of the institute.
