South Korea's Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-baek held a phone call with US War Department Policy Undersecretary Elbridge Colby on Thursday evening to discuss the Middle East situation, the Ministry of National Defense announced.
The ministry said in a text message to the press corps that "Defense Minister Ahn Gyu-baek held a phone call at the request of US War Department Policy Undersecretary Elbridge Colby and heard the US position regarding military operations against Iran."
"Through the phone call, both sides shared their assessment of the Middle East situation," the ministry said. "The two sides reaffirmed the strength of the ROK-US alliance amid the rapidly changing international security environment and agreed to continue close communication and cooperation going forward."
