Trump Urges Iranian People to 'Take Over' Government

U.S. President Donald Trump called on Iranian citizens to "take over" their government on the 28th, declaring "the government is yours."

"The U.S. military has just begun a significant operation in Iran," Trump said via Truth Social.

Israeli Defense Minister declared a national emergency the same day, announcing a preemptive missile strike against Iran. According to U.S. and Israeli government officials, the United States also participated in the attack on Iran. Targets included key Iranian military facilities, government institutions, and intelligence assets.

"Our goal is to protect the American people by eliminating the imminent threat from Iran," Trump said. "Iran attempted to restart its nuclear program, but it will never have nuclear weapons."
