People Power Party announced Sunday it will launch a "digital innovation nomination" system incorporating artificial intelligence and data technology starting with the June 3 local elections.
Under the new system, applicants can complete nomination applications online beginning May 5. The application system is linked to the government's electronic document wallet, enabling online submission of required certificates. An AI chatbot providing real-time answers to frequently asked questions about nomination procedures, eligibility requirements, and required documents has also been introduced.
AI and data-based technologies will be fully applied to the nomination screening and verification process to enhance transparency and efficiency. An "AI-based political credit evaluation model" quantifies key factors including candidates' party contributions, regional public activities, and ethics, providing comparative analysis against averages of applicants for the same position to assist the Nomination Management Committee's decision-making.
Nomination management will also become easier through real-time integrated monitoring of nationwide application status, precise analysis of regional applicant data, and consolidated tracking of applications by category including youth and women candidates.
"This system introduction represents a paradigm shift toward data-driven rather than human-driven verification in nominations," a People Power Party official said. "Through AI analysis, we aim to fundamentally block subjectivity and opacity that could arise in existing screening processes and establish a fair and trusted 'digital innovation nomination' system."
