
South Korean Defense Minister Ahn Kyu-baek met with Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman Al Saud in Riyadh on Sunday.
During the meeting, Ahn proposed advancing future-oriented defense and defense industry cooperation and invited Prince Khalid to visit South Korea within this year.
Prince Khalid responded that Saudi Arabia and South Korea share a future-oriented strategic partnership, adding that he expects Korea's excellent technology and experience to help strengthen Saudi Arabia's defense capabilities.
The two countries also signed a memorandum of understanding on defense research and development cooperation between Korea's Agency for Defense Development and Saudi Arabia's defense research institute.
Ahn visited Korean defense companies' exhibition booths at the third World Defense Show in Riyadh, encouraging industry officials and listening to voices from the defense export field.
The World Defense Show is one of the world's largest defense exhibitions, with approximately 700 companies from 80 countries participating this year.
