Former President Moon Jae-in acknowledged that his administration's real estate policy was a failure.
"I must admit it failed," Moon said in a video released on the Pyeongsan Bookshop TV YouTube channel on the 9th.
The video, a preview for Season 2 of Pyeongsan Bookshop, featured Moon responding to questions from host Tak Hyun-min, his former protocol secretary.
When Tak posed a question using the phrase "real estate is my sorest spot," Moon responded: "When it comes to real estate policy, I have to say it failed..."
Moon also addressed questions about his personal investments. Asked whether he had purchased funds during his presidency, Moon replied: "I still have them." When Tak remarked that the value must have risen considerably, Moon smiled and said: "Probably so."
Tak shared the video on his Instagram account, writing: "Former President Moon's painful confession and admission. Expectations for the Korean economy." The full video will be released at 7 p.m. on the 13th.
