American Bitcoin has continued its aggressive expansion, increasing its bitcoin holdings to 8,000. However, with its stock price down more than 90% since its listing, investor anxiety shows no signs of easing.
Confidence in Mining Performance… "Accumulation Strategy to Continue"
American Bitcoin (ABTC), led by Eric Trump, the second son of U.S. President Donald Trump, has accelerated its expansion by growing its bitcoin holdings to 8,000, according to a report by financial news outlet Benzinga on the 8th.
Eric Trump announced the milestone on his social media account, reportedly stating that the company's mining margin reached 52% in the first quarter of this year while management costs were among the lowest in the industry.
"Bitcoin accumulation will not stop," he said, once again signaling his commitment to a differentiation strategy centered on accumulation.
However, despite the company's emphasis on expanding its holdings, the market's view remains cold. American Bitcoin's stock price has fallen by nearly 94% since its listing in September last year, saddling investors with substantial losses.
In particular, reports that Eric Trump's personal wealth actually grew while $500 million (approximately 753.2 billion won) in shareholder value evaporated after the listing have kept controversy over management transparency and shareholder protection from subsiding.
Last month, the company resorted to a drastic measure — a 15-to-1 reverse stock split — to stem the stock's decline, but signs of a rebound have been scarce. Even after the move, the stock fell an additional 38%, once again confirming the market's chilly sentiment.
American Bitcoin currently shows bearish signals across nearly all stock analysis indicators, from short-term to long-term, suggesting it will not be easy to find a catalyst for a rebound anytime soon.
Rebutting "Political Bias"… Pressure to Prove Results
Eric Trump has confronted the market's criticism head-on, describing it as "political bias."
He reportedly maintains that American Bitcoin is merely facing difficulties from external factors such as rising mining costs and volatility in the virtual asset market, and that there is no problem with the company's direction itself.
Among investors, however, calls are growing for the company to go beyond simply increasing the number of bitcoins it purchases and to deliver concrete results showing how its mining business is actually contributing to improving its financial structure.
Ultimately, American Bitcoin's future is seen as depending on how much its 8,000 bitcoins can translate into a recovery in shareholder value during a future price upturn.
