The fourth Next-Generation Mid-Size Satellite, developed as an agricultural and forestry satellite for farming and forest management and forest change monitoring, headed into space Sunday.
The satellite was launched aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket at 4:12 p.m. Korea time (0:12 a.m. local time) from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
The Next-Generation Mid-Size Satellite No. 4 is an agricultural and forestry satellite based on a 500-kilogram standard platform. It carries a payload developed with domestic technology and can photograph the entire country every three days through a wide-area observation camera.
