SAP has unveiled a new artificial intelligence (AI) voice intelligence app. Developed jointly with the popular esports club Team Liquid, the app extracts data from in-game conversations and organizes it into structured information.
SAP and Team Liquid held a press conference at the HJ Business Center in Gwanghwamun, Seoul, on Tuesday to announce the launch of the new AI voice intelligence app. The event featured Thomas Esser, Senior Director of SAP's Global Sponsorship division, and Tom Balks, Team Liquid Partnership Manager, who introduced the AI voice intelligence app. Also appearing at the event were Broxah (Mads Brock-Pedersen), regarded as a legendary Team Liquid player, along with active players Morgan (Park Lu-han) and CoreJJ (Jo Yong-in).
The AI voice intelligence app developed by SAP was created as a dedicated solution for Team Liquid. The newly launched AI voice intelligence app uses AI to automatically structure conversations that take place during games. The AI distinguishes between speakers and transcribes the entire conversation into text. It then converts communications during the entire game into quantitative figures for analysis. The app also identifies the emotions contained in each utterance.
SAP and Team Liquid expect the AI voice intelligence app to help improve performance by using it for game reviews and practice. "Professional esports teams discuss tactics through real-time conversation during matches," Director Esser said. "Previously, analyzing these conversations was difficult, but we solved the problem by introducing AI."
Players who used the AI voice intelligence app also gave positive assessments. "Even when a coach gives feedback on in-game communication after a match, there are many cases where it is difficult to immediately understand," CoreJJ said. "SAP's AI voice intelligence app visualizes in-game communication metrics, making them intuitive and easy to grasp." He added, "It helps improve play because we can track the patterns of player conversations in matches with good results and those without."
