LG CNS (064400.KS) is pursuing a wide-ranging business partnership with Doosan (000150.KS) spanning artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and data centers.
LG CNS said Friday that it signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Doosan on Thursday at its headquarters in LG Science Park in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, aimed at securing global competitiveness in new businesses including AI transformation (AX), robot transformation (RX), data centers, and cloud. The signing ceremony was attended by LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-kyun and Doosan President Yoo Seung-woo, along with key executives from both companies.
LG CNS and Doosan plan to form a business cooperation task force within one month of the MOU signing and establish detailed operating plans. For AX cooperation, the two companies plan to establish a business roadmap while strengthening Doosan's agentic AI competitiveness based on LG CNS's enterprise agentic AI platform "Agentic Works." Collaboration in the RX field will also be reviewed.
In addition, LG CNS will upgrade Doosan's information technology (IT) infrastructure with its cloud and data center capabilities, while the two sides will also discuss introducing hydrogen fuel cells into LG CNS's data center business. Manufacturing AX, such as maximizing the lifecycle efficiency of production facilities by applying digital twin technology, is another major goal of the cooperation. The two companies also plan to work together in the logistics business using eco-friendly mobility.
"We will combine Doosan's technological capabilities accumulated in advanced materials and energy with LG CNS's AX capabilities to build next-generation business models that will lead the global market," Yoo said.
"We will quickly produce cooperation results that lead to actual commercialization, from AI equipment prediction at manufacturing sites to industrial innovation using robots," Hyun said.
