Sillim District 6 in Seoul's Gwanak-gu will be reborn as a 957-unit complex of up to 28 stories featuring an on-site elementary school. Gwanak-gu announced Tuesday that the "decision on the redevelopment plan and designation of the redevelopment zone for the Sillim District 6 housing redevelopment project" was finalized through a Seoul city notice on the 28th of last month.
Sillim District 6, located in the area of 419 Sinwon-dong, is a hillside area densely packed with aging, low-rise housing. A building floor area ratio of 249.61% will be applied to the 37,771.3 square meters, allowing for the construction of an apartment complex of up to 28 stories with 957 units (including 189 rental units).
Located at the foot of Samseongsan Mountain, Sillim District 6 is adjacent to Sillim Elementary School and its attached kindergarten, and is expected to become a forest-view residential complex with an on-site elementary school. Through linked development with the neighboring Sillim District 5, a skyline and green axis that preserve the Samseongsan landscape will be created.
Gwanak-gu plans to place a public pedestrian passage on Munseong-ro 28-gil, which connects from Munseong-ro to the main gate of Sillim Elementary School, to ensure safety on the route to school. The district also plans to equip the area with elevators and ramps for mobility-impaired residents to improve walking convenience.
