Seoul Dairy Cooperative has signed a business agreement with Cambodian food distributor Pourousaud to expand exports to Cambodia, the company announced Tuesday.
Under the agreement, Seoul Milk will supply dairy products based on high-quality raw milk to the Cambodian market, while Pourousaud will work to build Seoul Milk's brand recognition through localization strategies and marketing activities. Pourousaud operates a distribution network across 24 regions in Cambodia, including the capital Phnom Penh, and helps global brands enter the Cambodian market through localized marketing.
Seoul Milk plans to accelerate its push into the Southeast Asian market, using Cambodia as a foothold. Cambodia is considered a market with high growth potential, backed by a high birth rate and a young demographic structure. The country also offers strong appeal for market entry given its high preference for Korean food products, including beverages, the company said.
Seoul Milk currently exports its products to about 17 countries, including China and the United States, and its export volume last year rose 20% from the previous year. The company has recently been strengthening its export competitiveness by diversifying both its product lineup and destination countries. It is exporting cream donuts, juices, and beverages to Guam, Saipan, and Hawaii, and last month it launched processed sterilized milk in Kazakhstan and bar-type ice cream in Taiwan.
This month, Seoul Milk plans to expand its lineup of processed sterilized milk products, including matcha-flavored varieties, for the Americas, and will newly export Anfang sterilized milk and A2+ sterilized milk to Vietnam.
"This agreement will serve as an opportunity to promote Seoul Milk's high-quality raw milk competitiveness across various Southeast Asian markets beyond Cambodia," said Moon Jin-sup, chairman of Seoul Dairy Cooperative. "Led by Seoul Milk's premium raw milk, we will elevate the status of 'K-Milk' in the global market."
