Naver is set to welcome Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, who leads the global artificial intelligence (AI) chip market, at its headquarters on Thursday, drawing attention to substantive cooperation plans between the two companies. Naver's top executives, including Founder and Global Investment Officer Lee Hae-jin, are expected to attend the meeting in force, signaling a strong commitment to strengthening the partnership.
According to information technology (IT) industry sources on Wednesday, Naver is fine-tuning the detailed schedule, attendee list, and on-site movement plans ahead of Huang's visit to its headquarters '1784' on Thursday. The biggest point of interest is the meeting between Huang and Lee. As specific cooperation plans are expected to be discussed, the talks are projected to take the form of a multi-party meeting rather than a one-on-one between the two leaders, with Naver CEO Choi Soo-yeon and Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won — who hold decision-making authority over core business areas — also participating.
The main agenda of the meeting is AI infrastructure cooperation. The two companies have previously agreed to move beyond a simple graphics processing unit (GPU) supplier-customer relationship and jointly pursue a global AI factory project. The plan is to combine Nvidia's hardware platform with Naver's robotics, digital twin technology, and service capabilities to jointly target the global market — from implementing physical AI to building sovereign AI systems for governments and local companies in various countries.
Huang is also widely expected to tour the advanced infrastructure of Naver's headquarters in person. '1784,' the world's first robot-friendly building, is a space that brings together Naver's future technologies, including robotics, cloud, 5G, and digital twin. AMD CEO Lisa Su, who previously visited Korea, also toured the building under Choi's guidance.
Meanwhile, ahead of his visit to Naver, Huang is also scheduled to meet with NCsoft CEO Kim Taek-jin in Seoul on Wednesday. The two companies, which have long collaborated mainly in the gaming sector, are expected to hold in-depth discussions on technology partnerships in physical AI — a new growth engine for NCsoft — during the meeting.
