HD Hyundai Construction Equipment (267270.KS) has supplied 50 15-ton bulldozers to the Polish army, securing its first major order in Europe's military procurement business.
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment said Tuesday it had been confirmed as the final supplier for a tracked bulldozer procurement project at Poland's 3rd Regional Logistics Base. The contract covers 50 units of the 15-ton DEVELON bulldozer "DD130," worth 27 billion won, with supply volumes potentially expanding in the future depending on options.
Launched in the European market in 2023, the DD130 boasts a 22-ton level of traction power, thanks to its 159-horsepower engine.
The contract marks an achievement two years after the bulldozer's launch in Europe and the company's first large-scale military procurement project. HD Hyundai Construction Equipment said it met the Polish army's requirements, including chassis height adjustment, increased travel speed, and military painting.
It added that it secured customer trust by presenting a production and supply system suited to delivery deadlines requiring full product delivery by November.
Regarding the order, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment explained that the achievement came as European countries have recently been increasing investment in strengthening security capabilities and modernizing military infrastructure. The company expects it can raise its brand credibility in local defense and public procurement markets going forward.
"We have been recognized for our product performance, quality, and supply capability in Europe while meeting demanding military procurement conditions," said Lim Jung-woo, head of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment's European region. "By strengthening product competitiveness tailored to diverse work environments and special-purpose demand, we will establish ourselves as a trusted partner not only in construction equipment but also in the public, military supply, and infrastructure restoration markets."
Meanwhile, HD Hyundai Construction Equipment recently signed a 20 billion won contract in Norway to supply articulated dump trucks (ADT) to Rental Group, the largest construction equipment rental company in Northern Europe.
