Genesis Magma Racing, the racing team of Hyundai Motor's (005380.KS) luxury brand Genesis, has unveiled the livery of two GMR-001 hypercars set to debut at the Le Mans 24 Hours race. The hypercars feature the word "Magma" inscribed in Korean across the vehicles and are finished in Magma Orange, a color symbolizing Korea's vibrant energy.
Genesis aims to showcase the superior performance of its vehicles to the world through a successful debut at the Le Mans 24 Hours, the dream stage of motorsport, and to establish itself in the European high-performance premium market currently dominated by BMW and Ferrari.
Genesis Magma Racing unveiled the exterior of the two GMR-001 hypercars that will compete at the Le Mans 24 Hours on Monday, local time. The most distinctive feature of the hypercar design is "Magma" written in Korean. Magma, which is also the team's name, represents the identity of the Genesis racing team. The intense orange exterior reflects the volcanic origins of the Korean Peninsula and the energy hidden beneath the surface of South Korea, presenting Korea's energy and culture to the world.
The front of the GMR-001 hypercar is finished in Magma Orange, the signature color symbolizing Korea's dynamic energy. The orange transitions into a deeper red toward the rear of the vehicle. The color shift is meant to visually express the sense of speed felt when the car runs at full throttle and the rising temperature of the high-performance engine.

Both the No. 17 and No. 19 vehicles share the same base design. However, the No. 19 car features the Genesis and Genesis Magma Racing logos in white, with additional highlight elements. The No. 17 car is centered on orange and black colors.
"This goes beyond a simple racing livery — it is an artistic expression that conveys Genesis' unique performance identity through color and form," said Luc Donckerwolke, President and Chief Creative Officer of Hyundai Motor Group. "Genesis Global Design has presented an impressive yet light livery for the Le Mans 24 Hours, the biggest race of the 2026 WEC season."
Genesis Magma Racing will make its debut at the Le Mans 24 Hours, the world's premier endurance race, held at the Circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, France, on June 13-14, local time. The Le Mans 24 Hours, which Genesis is entering for the first time, is the top class where global automakers including BMW, Ferrari, Toyota, Cadillac, and Aston Martin compete.
Genesis' strategy is to rapidly secure, through the Le Mans 24 Hours, the performance image built by European brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz with histories spanning more than a century, in the home of motorsport. Genesis Magma Racing has already completed both cars at the WEC season opener in Imola, Italy. In the second round held at Spa, Belgium, the No. 17 car crossed the finish line in eighth place, earning the team its first points.
"The Le Mans 24 Hours will be the biggest weekend of the year for our team," said Cyril Abiteboul, Team Principal of Genesis Magma Racing. "It is the toughest test for the team in our first season, but it is also the greatest opportunity to present the identity of Genesis and Genesis Magma Racing to the world through racing."
