
The 18th president of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology has been appointed.
The National Research Council of Science & Technology (NST) said on the 19th that it had appointed Shin Seok-min, a professor in the Department of Chemistry at Seoul National University, as president of the Korea Research Institute of Chemical Technology at its 242nd regular board meeting.
Shin earned his bachelor's degree from the Department of Chemistry at Seoul National University and his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in the United States. He has also served as president of the Federation of Korean Chemical Societies and president of the Korean Chemical Society.
Shin will receive his letter of appointment from NST Chairman Kim Young-sik on the 20th and begin a three-year term running through May 19, 2029.
