
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) has selected its 11th president.
The National Research Council of Science and Technology (NST) said on the 19th that it held its 242nd regular board meeting and appointed Park Se-woong, a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University, as ETRI's president.
Park earned his bachelor's degree from Seoul National University and his Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in the United States. He has also served as president of the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences and as a researcher at AT&T Bell Labs in the United States.
Park is scheduled to receive his letter of appointment from NST Chairman Kim Young-sik on the 20th, beginning a three-year term that runs through May 19, 2029.
