Kang Sung-keun, CEO of mobility concierge platform company Chabot Mobility, has received a government commendation for his contributions to the development of the automotive industry.
Chabot Mobility announced Tuesday that Kang received the Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy's Commendation at the recent Automotive Industry Development Merit Awards, held to mark the 23rd Automotive Day. The awards are determined through a comprehensive evaluation of contributions that have driven innovation and growth across the industry.
"The government has officially recognized the digital transformation achievements in the mobility industry that CEO Kang has spearheaded," the company said. Kang built Chabot, a complete auto-commerce platform that organically links the previously fragmented structures of automotive trading, distribution, and finance. In particular, he has implemented an integrated auto-commerce ecosystem combining data, finance, and distribution, going beyond simple brokerage services.
Since its founding in 2016, Chabot Mobility has built a B2B2C-based mobility ecosystem by directly designing an integrated system that links a dealer network of approximately 32,000 members with the APIs of 33 financial and insurance companies. The company also provides an artificial intelligence (AI) repair estimate system based on more than 5 billion accident data records, as well as a used car export matching service handling 30,000 vehicles.
The company has recorded an average annual revenue growth rate of 150% over approximately nine years, achieving cumulative transactions of 1.3 trillion won and cumulative revenue of 105.2 billion won. It has also been named to the Financial Times' "High-Growth Companies Asia-Pacific 500" for three consecutive years and was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "Baby Unicorn 200." Building on its competitiveness accumulated in the domestic market, the company is also accelerating its expansion into global markets, including Mongolia, the United States, and Japan.
"This award is the result of the industrial recognition of the direction of technology and data-based innovation that Chabot Mobility has accumulated over the past 10 years," Kang said. "We will further solidify our position as a company leading the digital innovation of the AI-based mobility industry."
