SK Telecom (017670.KS) said Monday it held an event inviting 350 employees' families to SKT Tower in Euljiro, central Seoul, to mark Children's Day on May 5.
Chief Executive Officer Chung Jae-heon handed out gifts to the children of employees along with certificates naming them "SKT Junior Honorary Employees." "Your first mission is to have a fun day with your proud parents," he said. He also personally took Polaroid photos of the participating families.
The venue featured a range of programs for children and families to enjoy together, including a "Play Zone," "Food Zone," and "Activity Zone." The Children's Day event for employees' families has been a signature family-friendly program jointly organized by management and the labor union since 2016, giving children a chance to tour their parents' workplace and create special memories.
The previous day, Chung visited the "T Long-Term Customer Forest Vacation Day" held at Everland Forest Camp in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, where he met with about 300 family members of long-term customers who have been with SKT for more than 10 years. He expressed gratitude and personally delivered gifts to the loyal customers. He carefully read messages left by customers and conversed with them, listening to their memorable episodes while using the services and their hopes for the future.
"The customers who have shown us unwavering trust and affection for a long time, the employees who devote themselves to their work day by day, and the families who quietly support them are all the driving force that has built today's SKT," Chung said. "We will continue to listen more closely to the voices of our customers and employees and become a more trusted company."
