LG CNS has signed a reseller partnership agreement with OpenAI to provide ChatGPT Edu to educational institutions, the company announced Thursday.
ChatGPT Edu is a ChatGPT service dedicated to educational institutions, supporting various campus tasks such as creating lecture materials, organizing research data and reports, and providing personalized tutoring. It offers the same level of security environment as ChatGPT Enterprise, the corporate version, allowing students, professors, and researchers to use the service with confidence without concerns about sensitive information leaks. Its reasonable pricing, which reduces the burden of AI adoption for educational institutions, is another advantage. Overseas, major universities including Arizona State University (ASU), the California State University (CSU) system, and Harvard University have adopted ChatGPT Edu to boost productivity across education and strengthen their competitiveness. Estonia is also expanding AI use among students and teachers by implementing ChatGPT Edu across its secondary education system.
LG CNS will support educational institutions in effectively adopting and utilizing ChatGPT Edu. The company plans to sequentially conduct ChatGPT Edu introduction tour programs targeting major universities in the Seoul metropolitan area, along with AI education seminars. LG CNS is also reviewing plans to develop ChatGPT Edu-based AI education curricula and host hackathons in collaboration with universities and OpenAI.
The LG CNS "OpenAI Launch Center," which exclusively handles the ChatGPT business, provides full-stack services encompassing consulting and specialized technical support needed for ChatGPT Edu adoption. The organization is primarily composed of LG CNS's AI specialist engineers, AI architects, and AI consultants.
"While we have been rapidly expanding customer use cases and building track records through our ChatGPT Enterprise business, this ChatGPT Edu reseller agreement allows us to expand into the education AX sector," said Kim Tae-hoon, Vice President and Head of the AI Cloud Business Division at LG CNS. "We will continue to support more students and educational institutions in leveraging AI to enhance the productivity of their learning and research."
