NCsoft (036570.KS) CEO Kim Taek-jin told new employees that insight is essential for staying competitive in the age of artificial intelligence (AI).
NCsoft said Tuesday that Kim shared his views with this year's new hires on competitiveness in the AI era and the philosophy and direction of game development during a "Conversation with the CEO" event held at the company's Pangyo R&D Center in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, on Monday.
Kim identified "insight" as the most important capability in the AI era. "As AI technology advances, human insight has become even more important," he said. "Only those with the insight to grasp the essence and meaning of the work entrusted to them can remain competitive in the AI era."
On game development and creativity, Kim said, "The most ideal game is one that delivers pure fun that is difficult to express in words." He added, "I hope you create games that can deliver instinctive fun beyond logical explanation and limits."
"The new hires who sat in these seats 10 years ago are now the core of this company," Kim said. "I hope you will lead NCsoft to the next stage even faster than they did."
NCsoft has run the "Conversation with the CEO" onboarding program since launching open recruitment for new employees in 2006, using it to share the company's corporate spirit and future strategy with new hires.
