Samsung C&T's construction division unveiled "Next Material," a next-generation finishing material technology that replicates textures and colors tailored to customer preferences, the company announced Wednesday.
According to Samsung C&T, Next Material incorporates digital vision technology. Digital vision is a technique based on advanced digital printing that identically reproduces the visual and tactile characteristics of natural materials such as hardwood and marble. The technology will be first applied to flooring and wall finishing materials at Raemian Ellavine in Banghwa-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, a reconstruction project that began sales in March.
Samsung C&T developed the technology in partnership with Germany's Schattdecor, the world's leading surface materials company, and has completed patent applications. The new technology jointly developed by both companies is credited with improving tactile quality and durability compared to existing digital printing products while combining the practicality of laminate flooring with the premium quality of hardwood flooring.
