Kyungdong Navien (009450.KS), a leading boiler manufacturer in Korea, has donated its "Sleep Mat Carbon" products to the national team athletes who will compete at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics. The donation was made to express gratitude for the dedication and effort shown by the athletes.
Kyungdong Navien announced Thursday that it held a ceremony on Wednesday at the Jincheon National Training Center in North Chungcheong Province to present the Sleep Mat Carbon products to the Korean Olympic Committee's Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics delegation.
The company explained that the donation was arranged to support the athletes' performance maintenance and recovery.
"We deeply appreciate the national team athletes for giving their best and inspiring the nation," said Kim Yong-beom, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Kyungdong Navien. "We hope that after resting with the sleep mats, they will achieve great results in the upcoming competitions."
"This donation is expected to greatly help the national team athletes manage their condition and maintain their performance," said Kim Taek-su, Director of the National Training Center. "We are grateful for the support that allows our athletes to focus on training in a stable environment."
The Sleep Mat Carbon products will be distributed sequentially through the sports organizations to which the national team athletes belong.
Kyungdong Navien has continued its support for the sports sector. Since 2023, the company has partnered with the Pyeongtaek Sports Association for the Disabled and the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities to facilitate athlete employment. This program helps athletes train and compete while maintaining stable employment.
The current sponsored athlete group consists of 26 members: 11 in table tennis, 4 in bowling, 4 in billiards, 3 in park golf, 1 in boccia, 1 in badminton, 1 in track and field, and 1 in triathlon.
In February, Kyungdong Navien also donated sleep mats to the Milano-Cortina Winter Paralympic delegation through the Korea Paralympic Committee to wish them success.
