Karrot, a hyperlocal community platform, has launched a "Write by Voice" feature that allows users to create reviews of local businesses using voice input.
Karrot announced Wednesday that it will expand the Write by Voice feature, which was introduced as a beta test in January, to all business categories. Write by Voice is a review creation service utilizing a conversational interface. When artificial intelligence (AI) asks questions about the user's visit experience, the user responds by voice. Once the conversation ends, the AI organizes the entire content into a complete text review.
During the test period conducted in January, the reuse rate of Write by Voice reached 43 percent. An analysis of internal review quality metrics including information independence, specificity and reliability showed that quality satisfaction increased 40 percent compared to regular reviews. Karrot determined that the Write by Voice feature offers both convenience and high-quality information generation.
The accumulated reviews are shared with local neighbors through "Neighborhood Map." Karrot's Neighborhood Map is a service where neighbors' actual experiences are recorded on a map, allowing users to explore various reviews of stores near their residence or workplace.
"Karrot's local business reviews are becoming more than simple ratings—they're becoming information that helps neighbors live better local lives," a Karrot official said. "We expect the Write by Voice feature will allow users' valuable experiences to be recorded more specifically and increase their value as local information."
Write by Voice is available on the review creation screen within business profiles in the Neighborhood Map tab.
