The average sale price of a standard 84-square-meter apartment in Seoul has reached nearly 1.89 billion won, putting the 1.9 billion won threshold within immediate reach.
According to data released Monday by Real House, an apartment valuation firm, the nationwide average sale price for 84-square-meter units stood at 715.35 million won (based on a 12-month moving average) last month, recovering to the highest level in three months. Seoul's average came in at 1.8906 billion won, up 0.05% from the previous month, reaching just below the 1.9 billion won mark.
The rise in Seoul's sale prices was driven by the supply of high-priced complexes in prime Seocho and Yongsan locations, including Otière Banpo (33.07 million won per exclusive-use square meter), Acro de Seocho (31.22 million won), and Ichon Le-el (27.01 million won).
Nationwide sale prices on an exclusive-area basis rose to 8.54 million won per square meter, up 0.28% from the previous month's 8.52 million won, setting a new all-time high. By region, Seoul maintained the highest level nationwide at 21.98 million won per square meter, rising 1.97% from the previous month.
Last month, private apartment supply across the country totaled 11,188 units. The figure increased sharply compared with January (3,854 units) and February (5,342 units), and surged 98% from the same month last year (5,656 units).
