Hyundai Motor (005380.KS) said Wednesday it is launching the 2027 Kona, its flagship compact sport utility vehicle, and beginning full-scale sales.
The 2027 Kona comes with customer-preferred features as standard in the "H-Pick" trim. The gasoline 1.6 turbo H-Pick trim, for example, includes dual full-auto air conditioning, a 12.3-inch navigation system, a rain sensor, and 18-inch alloy wheels and tires.
The base "Modern" trim of the 2027 Kona has been optimized to cut its price by 490,000 won from the previous model, maximizing practicality. Faux leather seats and interior trim, previously included as standard, are now offered as a separate "Comfort Choice" option package. LED interior lights, an electrochromic mirror (ECM) rearview mirror, and second-row air vents have been moved to higher trims.
The 2027 Kona hybrid (HEV) model also saw a price reduction of 590,000 won through specification rationalization, with the 12.3-inch navigation system and ECM rearview mirror, previously standard, now grouped into the optional "Comfort Choice" package.
The "Black Exterior" trim adds a new dedicated black wheel design, further reinforcing the Kona's signature bold and refined identity.
Hyundai Motor offers five infotainment themes as a subscription service on the 2027 Kona, including recently introduced themes such as Pokémon Pikachu Volt Tackle, Pokémon Ditto World, Pororo Fun Train Trip, Tayo Colorful Garage, and Zanmang Loopy Original.
Pricing for the 2027 Kona gasoline 1.6 turbo model is set at 24.29 million won for the Modern, 26.47 million won for the H-Pick, 28.75 million won for the Premium, and 31.02 million won for the Inspiration. The gasoline 2.0 model starts at 23.60 million won for the Modern and 25.88 million won for the H-Pick.
The 1.6 hybrid model is priced at 28.96 million won for the Modern, 30.75 million won for the H-Pick, 33.18 million won for the Premium, and 35.12 million won for the Inspiration.
Hyundai Motor will display the vehicle at the "Pokémon Run 2026 in Seoul" event to be held at Ttukseom Hangang Park in Seoul on May 5 to celebrate the 2027 Kona launch.
