LG Uplus said Monday it has sent 10.68 million text notifications — covering 64.1% of its entire customer base — ahead of the company-wide SIM card update and free replacement program set to begin on May 13.
The mobile carrier began sending the notifications on April 30 and plans to reach an additional 5.98 million customers on May 6 and 7.
Customers can check whether they are eligible for a SIM update or replacement starting May 8 through the U+ One app and the LG Uplus website, the company said.
From May 13, SIM updates can be completed through the U+ One app or the LG Uplus website without visiting a store. Customers who prefer in-store updates or replacements can make reservations starting May 8 through the "Store Visit Reservation" service on the U+ One app or website.
