Samsung SDS (018260.KS) has announced its "S-VIP Consulting" program designed to guide the entire artificial intelligence transformation (AX) process for manufacturing companies.
Lee A-na, a consultant at Samsung SDS, introduced the S-VIP consulting program on Tuesday at the "AWS Partner AI Cloud Solution Conference" held at Lotte Hotel World in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The consulting program supports AX for manufacturers and is characterized by providing customized AI services tailored to each client.
The consulting consists of three stages. Stage 1 involves setting AI goals, Stage 2 focuses on identifying use cases, and Stage 3 covers governance building. In Stage 1, Samsung SDS defines the company's specific problems and identifies AX demand points through interviews with client employees. Stage 2 involves building AX services, including the deployment of AI agents. In the final stage, the program designs decision-making structures and compliance frameworks for companies utilizing AI.
Samsung SDS cited a proof-of-concept (PoC) case with a major rental company as an S-VIP client example. The client had recently launched a robot rental business and sought to build a data-driven collaboration system within the company. After interviewing the client's employees, Samsung SDS identified that AI could be applied in maintenance support and training for technicians. It then developed a customized AI agent tailored to the client's needs. Samsung SDS created queries to measure technicians' practical maintenance capabilities and distributed them to technicians before and after the introduction of the new AI service. As a result, technicians' search time decreased by 43.9%, and search accuracy improved by 12.45%. User satisfaction scored 92 points.
"A company's direction and AI innovation goals must be clearly aligned," Lee said. "AI use cases must be discovered based on the client's work processes and on-site demand."
