Raon Secure (042510.KQ), a South Korean AI security and authentication platform company, is accelerating efforts to lead the agentic AI-based security automation market through a partnership with Upstage, a leading Korean artificial intelligence firm.
Raon Secure announced Wednesday that it signed a business agreement with Upstage for the development and commercialization of agentic AI security automation.
The agreement represents a strategic move by both companies to build digital trust infrastructure for the agentic AI era. The plan is to combine Raon Secure's security and authentication technologies with Upstage's large language model (LLM) to secure a dominant position in the agentic AI security market.
As a first step, the two companies agreed to launch an "agentic AI-based security automation platform" — designed to have AI autonomously manage enterprise-wide security operations — within this year. The core objective goes beyond simple functional automation to restructure an enterprise's entire security operations framework around AI.
While conventional security solutions react to threats based on predefined rules, the new platform understands security situations at a contextual level, makes its own judgments, and executes response measures in line with established policies. It functions as an "AI security officer" that carries out security operations.
Existing security automation systems have relied on human administrators for final judgment and response after threat detection. By contrast, the agentic AI-based platform autonomously handles the entire process — from detecting and analyzing anomalous behavior to applying policies and blocking threats. The platform also learns from a company's internal procedures and response history, organically coordinating overall security operations to achieve both automation efficiency and operational control.
For example, the platform can apply JML (Joiner-Mover-Leaver) automation that manages account permissions in real time as employees join, transfer, or leave an organization. By understanding natural language commands, it reflects permission changes prompted by personnel movements in a timely manner, minimizing permission gaps or excessive access rights.
Threat analysis, security policy implementation, and report generation can also be automated around the clock by the agentic AI. This structure enables companies to more effectively address chronic shortages of specialized security personnel and staff fatigue.
Under the partnership, Raon Secure will contribute security technologies including policy data, workflow processes, and control frameworks, while Upstage will deploy its proprietary LLM "Solar" to handle judgment and response functions. The combination of Raon Secure's security expertise and the LLM will create a field-ready AI security system.
